A precise, technical logo for the digital future of casting.
INTRODUCTION
How do actors and actresses actually get their jobs? Maybe by sending DMs to producers? By simply annoying all their friends, who in turn know someone who knows someone? Or perhaps through eBay? For a long time, at least one thing was clear: the industry was dominated by expensive agents who rarely offered any real added value. These agents still exist today, but only in isolated cases. It's time for something better. Time for Castapp.
Castapp is a digital platform that simplifies the entire casting process for companies, agencies, and talent. It bundles applications, communication, and administration in one place so that roles can be filled more efficiently and processes can be made more transparent. In short, Castapp digitizes and accelerates casting processes, from application to final selection. The logo should reflect this very claim: technology, the future, and digitization in an industry that still seems outdated in many places.
RESULT
A traditional theater logo was not an option for Castapp. Figurative, exaggerated elements such as faces, people, or curtains were deliberately excluded. In addition, an abstract representation of a “C” was desired, which did not necessarily have to be recognizable at first glance. However, one thing was paramount—the technical aspect.
That's why, when developing the logo, we considered where the intersection between technology and theater lies. The idea of an abstract, stylized stage that could be visualized with an almost nerdy minimalism turned out to be a brilliant idea. An angular, mathematical parallelogram not only formed the basis of the grid, but also runs conceptually like a golden thread through the entire appearance. Based on this shape, the logo was developed with its angular, straightforward design reflecting an abstract “C” and depicting the parallelogram—the digital stage—in negative space.
Clear, angular, independent. A symbol that stands not only for Castapp, but for an entire industry that is increasingly taking place in the digital space.
