A distinctive visual voice for a podcast that makes the personalities of the real estate world audible.

INTRODUCTION

When Oliver came to our strategy meeting, he immediately said, “I don't have a classic business model – more of a heartfelt model.” So it quickly became clear which direction the project should take. After many years in management positions in the real estate industry, he wanted to channel his experience and passion into a podcast. With the question “Why the real estate industry?”, he invites guests from a wide variety of fields. What they all have in common is that their paths have rarely been straightforward. This is exactly what Oliver wants to convey to those who are at the beginning of their careers – there is no single career path in this industry.

 

While other real estate podcasts talk about companies, Why Real Estate? focuses on the people behind the job titles. Their stories and perspectives make the conversation an authentic and approachable dialogue. This should also be reflected in the visual identity: personal, but at the same time professional and serious.

RESULT

The visual identity had to make both the podcast and real estate visible. At the same time, it was important to avoid any clichéd or exaggerated symbols: no houses, no microphones, no headphones. Just as Oliver is creating something unique with his podcast, the visual identity should also convey the individuality of the project.

 

The name itself brings something special: Why Real Estate. The only letter that extends into the descender is the “y.” And it does so in a rather fortunate position, because that's where speech bubbles are usually drawn in the lower left corner. Tailor-made for this project, this circumstance could be visually connected by underlining the entire word and leaving a deliberate indentation at the “y” on the descender line. Leaving the line open creates the association of a door in a construction drawing. A double image that leaves a lasting impression. This concept can also be continued wonderfully without having to write out the word — for example, in the WRE abbreviation of the logo or as an image border.
