A fresh two-tone logo redesign that visually supports the repositioning of a nutrition therapy practice.
INTRODUCTION
The "Praxis für Ernährungstherapie" in Aachen consists of a team of six ecotrophologists and a dietitian who offer qualified and certified nutritional counseling in close collaboration with doctors from various medical fields. As certified consultants, they work product-neutrally and based on the latest scientific findings.
When the current owners took over the practice, they decided to keep the existing logo – a symbol that likely represents two flags. However, the design appeared uninspired, and its original meaning was hardly recognizable. Therefore, the previous, generic logo is to be replaced with a fresh, modern design that visually emphasizes the reorientation of the young, growing team.
RESULT
The only design constant to be retained is the use of yellow and red. However, both shades will be revised to appear brighter and more powerful. The challenge was to combine these two intense primary colors harmoniously, without making the design too colorful or playful. Due to the long name of the practice, we decided on a pictorial mark that incorporates the letter "P" for Praxis, combined with a symbol representing the field of nutrition.
A bold fruit motif was to be avoided, but the team liked the idea of subtly referencing an apple. Thus, the concept emerged to connect the stylized leaves of an apple stem with an organically drawn "P". The bowl is depicted in a bright yellow and the stem in a strong red, creating a harmonious balance of clarity, symbolism, and modernity.
